The room was very clean. The shower was strong. I found the breakfast to be freshly cooked. The staff members were friendly and helpful .
The window in my room would not open. The frame seemed rotten, a detail that affected ventilation. There was no view from the window. Only a derelict building was visible.

i found the lack of a cheese knife at a hotel claiming centuries of history rather amusing (apparently, cheese straight from the fridge is fine, though). also, getting a simple fried egg with breakfast proved to be an impossible request. these small details really do detract from the overall experience. it's the little things, i suppose.

the hotel's location is convenient with easy parking. my room was recently renovated and spacious. the hotel offered helpful staff, especially when i booked by phone.
road noise was noticeable during the night and early morning. i heard loud talking and laughing past 1 am. this disturbance affected my sleep quality.

the staff was efficient even with a lot of business at the hotel.
the room faced the pub beer garden, and noise continued until 10pm, this made it difficult to rest. dinner was also disappointing given the price. i expected better quality for the money spent.
